Human Nature Awarded Medals In The Order Of Australia

The Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, will invest the members of iconic Australian band Human Nature with Medals of the Order of Australia in  a ceremony at Government House on Tuesday 7 May.

Over the past 30 years, Human Nature – Toby Allen, Phillip Burton and Andrew and Michael Tierney – have performed extensively here and overseas. They are exemplary ambassadors for Australia and have also given generously of their time to charitable organisations here and in the United States of America.  

“Through the Order of Australia we recognise and celebrate outstanding Australians who have made an extraordinary contribution to our nation. Many recipients are quiet achievers in their local communities while others are familiar names and faces. All, though, have a common trait – they work tirelessly and make our nation what it is,” the Governor-General said.

“I congratulate Human Nature on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia. They are outstanding ambassadors, have given generously over many years and have brought joy to audiences and music lovers here and overseas.”
